The process of renewal of driving license in Kenya is now faster, easier and more convenient. NTSA services can be accessed online at the eCitizen portal.

The eCitizen portal is a free online service that enables Kenyans to access government services and make payments online. It is now easy to acquire a marriage certificate, search for a business name, get a passport or Visa via the eCitizen website.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) enables motorists to renew their driving license online by following a few simple steps.

The NTSA was established by the National Transport and Safety Authority Act of 2012 with a view to reducing madness on Kenyan roads.

  1. Log-in to the NTSA/ eCitizen portal with your E-mail address (or National ID Number) and Password.

  2. Select National Transport and Safety Authority for online renewal of driving license in Kenya
  3. Click on Submit Application, then Driving Licenses
  4. You have two options for the renewal of driving license in Kenya: a three-year license renewal that costs Ksh1400 or a one-year license at Ksh600. The NTSA charges a mandatory Ksh50 convenience fee in addition to the renewal charges.
  5. Double check and confirm your driving license renewal details, then click Apply Now. Finally press Submit
  6. Choose your preferred mode of payment. NTSA allows use of mobile money such as M-pesa and Orange Money. One can also pay using a Debit or Credit card
  7. Print your driving renewal license slip.

  1. Motor vehicle registration
  2. Transport licensing
  3. Motor vehicle inspection
  4. Maintaining road safety
  5. Carrying out driver testing
  6. Basic traffic law enhancement
